Access to engineering for mature students

I’ve finally made a decision to pursue civil engineering as my chosen degree.

I’ve decided to enrol into Brighton University because it’s close to home and I have to consider family too.
The entry requirements accept access to engineering or science for mature students for their Civil engineering MEng course. I plan on completing A-Level in maths too for extra credit

There’s a company called Learndirect. They offer the access course for distance learners and they are verified by QAA.

I am just wondering if anyone has had any experience with this company?
They do not offer an advanced learner loan, I do not know why people go with learn direct.

The loan is free once you complete a degree.

Thank you for your reply. I agree, they don’t offer a loan. Unfortunately, my only other online options were colleges and they don’t start enrolment until September 2024. Prices were £3k above. I was able to get my course for £1100 upfront, so it wasn’t too bad in the end

Fair enough.
