Wolverhampton or Roehampton for Psychology Conversion Msc?

Hi all. I've had offers for both of these Unis to do the Msc in Psychology (Conversion). Both are distance online learning as I work full-time and both are BSP accredited. Roehampton is slightly more expensive at £9,250. What do you think the better option would be? Thanks.

They're both BPS accredited? It doesn't make a difference where you go already. They're both online? Your experience will be remarkably similar. Unless you have some reason to want to choose the expensive option, pick the best one for your wallet (Wolverhampton)

Hi @SorchaSellers!

Congratulations on your offers!

A few things about our Psychology Conversion (Distance Learning) programme:

Our compulsory modules include: Historical and Conceptual Issues in Psychology, Making Sense of the World, Self and Identity, Understanding Relationships, Topics in Mental Health, Applying Psychology.

The programme covers the core content you need to apply for Graduate Basis for Chartership (GBC).

You will have access to specialist services and a wide range of e-books and research journals.

A clear learning structure: live online interactive classes primarily in the evening (currently two evenings, 6pm - 9pm UK time, per week during the Autumn and Spring semesters) and structured online learning (which includes recorded classes, participating in forum discussions and practice tests).

I hope this helps with your decision making process, good luck!

Hi Katie 😊

I’m interested in applying for the psychology conversion course but noticed that unlike other universities, your website doesn’t provide any details about the assessment methods. As a neurodivergent student, it’s really important for me to have this information in advance to understand how the course might fit my learning needs.

Could you please share what types of assessments are used (e.g., exams, essays, presentations)? I’d prefer not to call, so any information you could provide here would be really helpful.

Thanks😊

Did you find out the answer to your question? This is something I would like to know too, and I already spoke to the advisor, but we haven't discussed this point, but I'd be interested to know this too...thx.

No unfortunately, no one has replied. Put off completely by Brunel and Reading, they have been emailing RELENTLESSLY. I don't like this hard sell approach to uni by these sales reps 😒 if I hear anything on here or by email, i’ll let you know. Seems like we are interested in a lot of the same uni’s 😂

Yes, it seems like this, haha. And yes, it's so hard to choose a Uni, I just want to get it right and not regret it later... I managed to talk to them, but it was before I saw your questions, and didn't even think about asking it...but I've also emailed them and they got back to me giving me an email address I need to contact. I haven't done so yet, but will do and hopefully will have more information. The course looks interesting and I studied with them my UG and they were ok, so I hope masters will be fine as well...

Hi @Journeyofsmiley

For now, the assessments are in essay and report formats (all submitted online) and MCQs (again - online). The programme is being re-designed so this may change for September 2025. We won't know what that will look like until later in the year.
