Cracked retainers

Panicking currently cause I cracked my retainers and haven't been to my retainer check up yet. I really don't want to have to pay since they're so expensive but can orthodontists fix them if it's not totally broken? There's a crack down the middle section which is worrying me about whether they'll need to make completely new ones.

I didn't because they broke before I had them for a whole year! Although it's happening again to my new ones and I'm not sure if I'll have to pay this time, I really wish they weren't made of plastic *
