My favourite was my final year as I felt more confident by then, I didn't feel as anxious as I did in my first year so I could have conversations with course mates a little easier. I also really enjoyed the modules and the opportunities I was able to experience. I studied Media at uni so in my final year I hosted my own radio show, interviewed Patrick Stewart, volunteered as a social media volunteer for my local Oxfam store for a year which went towards my uni module, it was just a lot of fun!
I really enjoyed my 3rd year at uni. I was more comfortable on campus and had made some really good friends. I was also on the committee for one of the sports clubs, which was definitely a highlight. I think I enjoyed 3rd year the most as I really enjoyed the modules that I was doing. What year are you currently in?
2nd year. Knew what I had to do by then to do well (2Ds and an E in first term of first year was a real eye opener). Met my friends I would be spending every weekend with for the rest of uni. Met the girl I would spend the rest of uni with (didn't last after as we were both too career minded but we were almost inseparable for that first year of our relationship). No pressure of the later years and needing to do well for your degree (even if I ended up with As in all my final exams for second year and an invite for a distinction oral which I aced). Yup second year was a pretty good year for me. I'd go back and do it again in a heartbeat!

Are you at uni or are you starting this year?

I’m in first Year! Wondering if it gets any better than this 🤣

My diss was really interesting to write, even if it didn't end up being that good overall. Made friends I've kept for a long time, found out plenty of stuff, and at the end, it felt like the best time I'd had at university overall.
I loved it all but my 3rd year I specialised properly in Indian philosophy and that set the course for the rest of my career, really. So probably 3rd year.
Great question! For me, the second year is a standout (my current year). I am like a campus ninja, I know all the shortcuts, and have my favourite study spots down to a science (Maxwell building 9th floor). The coursework has also gotten more interesting, delving into more advanced topics that really sparked my interest.
My social circle has also expanded like crazy! More friends means more perspectives, study buddies, and the occasional post-exam celebration. It's incredible how a diverse social circle can make the university experience so much richer.
All in all, second year is like hitting the perfect balance between familiarity, academic growth, and a flourishing social life. Good times! I might have a change of opinion in third year but at for now second year is the best so far.

I love this question! I'd say that my favourite year so far would have to be third year (my current year).
This year is my study abroad year, and I am currently loving my time in America. It's been great to improve my independence, confidence, and explore new topics/subjects I could be interested in learning more about. I've met some wonderful people, made friends from all over the world, and have had the best experiences exploring and trying things I would never have dreamed of doing back home. It is something I will forever remember and talk about, and I would absolutely recommend to anyone considering it!
Having said this, I feel like my final year will also be great. While I'm sad to be leaving the US, I am looking forward to going back to Chester with this new mindset, and ready to finish my degree. I have some friends staying on to do further study and have lots of plans already set out, so I guess we will see!
What do you study and what are you looking forward to in your second year?

My favourite year is my final year, I enjoyed this year the most because I got to choose all of my modules. I enjoyed studying the modules that I was interested in the most. Also, I feel more confident this year: I know the university environment well, and do not have the stress of moving to a new environment and meeting new people.
The past two years have also taught me the skills that are needed at university, I found time management this year much more easier. I was also able to have a better work life balance this year, which I am very happy with.
If you have any questions about university, I will be happy to answer them. 😊 Chloe University of Kent student Rep

Hi,
Thanks for your reply!!
I’m looking forward to hopefully meeting more people, I feel like I met some this year but I do want to form deeper friendships, do you think this is possible in the second year?? Or do people become less friendly
I am only a 2nd year student but so far I am enjoying my 2nd year more than my first year. First year was still amazing but my friendships are more solidified in 2nd year and I am overall more comfortable, confident and familiar with Uni life. I also feel a lot more confident and relaxed around my proffessors so I don't have as much of an issue with asking for help when I need it. This may not be the same for everyone but from my personal experience I am thuroughly enjoying University.

That’s good to hear as someone who’s first year hasn’t been all that good 😌
