Where are lectures for Comp Sci with Cyber Security UNI OF SOUTHAMPTON

Hey there, those in University of Southampton who study Computer Science with Cyber Security, where are your lectures and seminars usually based, campus wise? I’m looking for accommodation should I choose to go there and would like to be able to pick accommodation that isn’t too far from my lectures for daily ease. Please let me know :smile:

Hi @hotbrownie1 ,

the School of Compyuter Science is based on Highfield and so most of your lectures and tutorials should be based there. The closest accomodation to Highfield campus is Glen Eyre halls of residence, which are about a 10 minutes walk away. Alternatively Wessex Lane halls are also quite close - about 20 minutes walk away. Both halls ave bus stops close by so you can take roughly a 10 minute bus ride to campus instead.

If you go for Uni accommodation you get a free Unilink bus pass for the 1st year so it doesn't really matter which halls you choose. Have a look on Google Street View to get an idea as to what's in each area. One thing I would say is that Glen Eyre is up quite a steep hill. For socialising and shopping a lot of the students get the bus down to Portswood.
