Columbia University New York. Is it any good?

It's so expensive! And why does this university have stuff for students who are parents?

Columbia is ranked 17 in the world, according to The Times Higher Education World University Rankings 2024 (https://www.timeshighereducation.com/world-university-rankings/2024/world-ranking). There are only three UK universities ranked above it: Oxford, Cambridge, Imperial.

Yes, it's expensive. US universities are expensive. (So are UK universities if you pay international fees.) Living in New York City will also be expensive.

Universities have "stuff for students who are parents" because not all students are 18 years old with no children. And bear in mind that Columbia has twice the number of postgraduate students than it has undergraduates. Some of them will have families. (UK universities also provide services for students who have children.)
