Freshers' Week is the term used, as far as I know mainly in the UK, to describe the week after new students arrive at University. It typically involves meeting new people and going to parties/clubs/events, and is often portrayed as being a time when the "freshers" consume lots of alcohol.
It's the first week of uni and is celebrated with lots of parties and events. It's called fresher due to the sponsorship by freshers chewing gum. Kind of sad how it's marked by that commercialism but commercialism is everywhere these days tbh. Good fun week you'll love it
freshers is for the 1st/foundation year new comers to relax. By relaxing i mean they will come, they will go to bars, will get rat arsed and waste what money they have. Then there will be societies to join and they will ask for money to join....yet if you wait till middle its free to join...not gym tho/
