What university courses can I do with the A-levels I will pick?

I plan on picking English Literature, Philosophy, Psychology and Classical Civilisation at A-Level. I was wondering what university courses I could do with these A-Levels (discarding the obvious). I don't have any specific career or field that I want to go into. Also it's not too late to change my A-Level choices if I want to. So what can I do at uni?

From my sixth forms prospectus:

"Students of Classical Civilisation may go to university to study Arts,Humanities or Social Sciences courses.Graduates in classical subjects are able to bring a diverse range of skills to most non subject specific careers. Popular careers for graduates in classic subjects include publishing, accountancy, law education, marketing, management, media as well as specialist areas such as research."

"As a qualification English Literature remains eminently adaptable, preparing you for courses in the Arts, Humanities, Business and Social Sciences. It also provides an excellent basis for a wide range of professions and careers: apart from the specifically ‘cultural’ or ‘expressive’ ones, Law, Advertising, Administration and Management prove popular"

"A Psychology degree can lead to careers in a wide variety of professions including advertising, marketing, education and health services as well as specialisations in clinical psychology, educational psychology or neuroscience, amongst many others."

"Many universities offer degree courses which relate directly to the subject. Philosphy is ideal preparation for Law, Philosophy, PPE, Psychology, Religious Studies and Theology."

They sound great for Politics or PPE style courses, though you may have problems with the lack of maths if you want to go for PPE.

Most people have at least a vague idea as to what they want to do at uni or as a job then pick their a-levels around that. Have you absolutely no idea what you want to do?

What subject do you enjoy most?

Perhaps philosophy/ theology/english/creative writing? I'm not sure if your subjects would be strong enough for law. You'd struggle to get onto a science course unless you did a foundation year, in which case you might aswell do sciencey a-levels. Although psychology might be an option? I'd suggest history but if you were that interested in it i'm sure you'd pick it for a-level ...

I'm really not sure what I want to do, there are so many different fields that I'm interested in I just can't decide! I have no interest in science though. Thanks for your help though, I feel much more confident in my choice now :smile:
