Red Block, Digby Hall, Ground Floor flat 2 anyone?

Oh hey I'm red block first floor flat 4  I haven't found anyone else in red block yet! I wanted to get to know some people in my block before starting...

Oh that's cool, I'd much rather experience a great social life than a nicer room! I was thinking of giving the bus pass a miss, then I can save on that and a gym subscription and just walk everywhere!

Yeah I'd suggest getting a cheap bike though. Walking from Mary Gee to the better gym on manor road takes about 20 minutes. Walking to campus from Mary Gee around 25. It's all flat though so you can do it in no time with a bike...

Wow! Well done on getting in!. I'm studying Computer Science, love all things technology . Ahh you're gonna have a fairly long journey . I'm only coming from Derby so staying in the Midlands. Leicester would be a major upgrade in terms nightlife and sheer size from tiny Derby haha so I feel like I'm moving to New York lol. Have you seen Digby by any chance? I didn't visit on the open days so have no idea what to expect!

It is right at the top of GMS (3 minute walk to the dining hall). Almost opposite the road from JoFo. Between the Sports Hall/Running Track and Bowder Court.

Holds 30 people. Two floors of 14 and then 2 rooms with en-suites on top. 1 kitchen and 4 bathrooms per floor (ground and first).

Very sociable house with 30 people, and there are 7 very similar buildings in that area.

Aaahh thankyou! Would you mind telling me where you got all this from, please? (unless you already knew, haha) :colondollar:

I've been allocated my accommodation in 'Beaumont Gate House' can anyone tell me what this place is all about? I can't seem to find any records of it online anywhere!
Thanks

I went in there on the open day!!
It's right at the front gates of Beaumont, and has 4 (I think) bedrooms, a communal room downstairs, bathroom etc and kitchen ... from what I remember the kitchen was pretty small, but if there's only 4 of you it should be ok!

I stayed in one of the other houses in that area, and they are all pretty much identical.

Thanks, you too! Ahh I don't mix with technology... Oh right, yeah I haven't heard anything about Derby except it being small hahaha. I went on the open day but I think it was closed for refurbishment? From what I've heard the rooms are quite small but it's really sociable, are you going catered or self catered?
I'm in gumly too! Flat 9

im in flat 9!
Hi all, literally just got a place through clearing as a mature student (25) and I'm moving out of my flat to go to uni so I need a room that I can stay in over some of the breaks.

Also ensuite/self catered, any idea which blocks fit the bill? I'm way behind so need to apply asap
Will be reading this whole thread in the meantime lol
Thanks for any help

Finally managed to get my accommodation application submitted today after trying all day yesterday. I applied for self-catered en-suite rooms at John Foster, Gilbert Murray and Opal Court. Am hoping I get one of those choices! :crossedf:
Just been told that John Foster is out of self catered rooms, Mary Gee and Nixon still have self catered places but few ensuite rooms left anywhere
