It has about 1500 students.

Why did you answer the same question differently? Were you worried in the first instance that people would think it was bad that you found students attractive?

How many times do you need to ask this?

They learn for exams only, yes. It's all about grades and qualifications. (...)

So would you say in a cynical way that school is intending to make students to gears in a clockwork?

How much teachers are able to influence the education system anyway?

So why the change?

Yes.

Teachers just do what they are told by the government via the curriculum.

There is no change. Quite frankly, you seem obsessed with this topic. I would be seriously worried if you ever do become a teacher.

There was a change. First you said you had never found a student attractive, then you said you had.

Huh? I'm not planning to become a teacher.
Favorite year to teach?
What's your favorite a-level module? (e.g core/mechanics etc.)
Do you enjoy parents evenings?
Did you always enjoy maths from a young age?

These are very interesting answers! you answered that teachers do what is given by the curriculum of the government. How much the government is controlled by the economy in this regard?

Yes that is a change that needs to be made, absolutely.

Have you any countries as paragons in terms of that change? are there countries which allow many liberties in terms of curriculum anyway?
Original post by Autistic Merit
My answer is no.

Do you teach secondary school students or is it older
Original post by Nedum Onuoha
I think you mean 'purposely', Crunchie. I thought you were good with grammar?

I am but I didn't know that.

You're a dupe aren't you? You wouldn't be calling me Crunchie if you weren't one. One of my nit-pickers... Who are you?

1. Year 7 definitely - they can be squashed and they are very obedient on the whole.
2. Stats 2
3. They are torture. Some parents really are defensive as hell.
4. Yes

1. Complete control I guess.

2. I imagine that Singapore and Finland allow plenty of liberties. I would love to visit a school in those countries.

Ah weird, I thought you would prefer teaching a-level as it is a bit more interesting

Also weird, you're the first teacher I've spoken to who enjoys teaching stats  I'm looking forward to starting S2 then

Yeah I always feel bad for teachers when it comes to these meetings, they seem pretty pointless to me.

You can never say anything of value anyway as you have about 2-3 minutes per appointment.
