Does anyone know a way of preventing the itchiness/ redness after shaving down below?

I quite like the scratching in a way, bit of stress reliever, keeps warm in a winter.

My advice would be to use electrical trimmer as opposed to a blade. Less worry of razor bumps too.

I shaved once before an interview a few years back. Even with moisturiser it did not end well :erm:

Honestly, just trim.

Shaving in in the grain of the hair prevents itchiness, and talcum powder does as well (well at least on my head, I haven't tried it on my pubes yet but I assume it's the same principal).

Surely there must be a correlation between them? I don't really think a person would shave down there so they can be a nun? I don't really see the point :tongue:

And yes, it appears that you're digging yourself deeper into the hole; if holes are going to be 'shaved' as well, then it's spiralling into a black hole.

You should buy a tea tree oil moisturiser/cream and apply it frequently after shaving to avoid itchiness. You can buy it at body shop.
To prevent the redness and ingrown hairs you should trim as much as you can first and then shave with a multiple blade razor.
If you still feel itchy, you can apply some ice for temporary relief.
