The Student Room Group

Most Personal Trainers are crap.

They have no idea what they're doing, well in fact they do but they don't realise its normally BS. I see them walking around in their L and XL t-shirts which make them look like skinny teenagers (a lot of them actualy are) passing judgment onto lifters because they have done some rubbish 6 week course which offers no real experience.

Experience beats learning from a textbook any day.

(Yes I had an argument with a PT the other day)

I would stick to my strengths and be one of the few worthwhile PTs.

Maybe, however people won't look at me in the gym with a client and think I'm an absolute mong.
It depends. I personally feel research and a good friend/spotter can give you everything a personal trainer can give you.

At the end of the day, success isn't just about that 1hr with the PT, it's about a lifestyle, drinking water, sleeping, eating properly etc.

Maybe a PT is good for starting out if you don't have anyone else and you need a bit of confidence/learning. I think they quickly become redundant, though.
