I use apps like Duolingo, is there any better ways to learn French?

- watch 10min of french news everyday
- start watching your movies/series in french (settle in french with english subtitles) and try to relate the words you read/hear
- read a bit of french before sleeping

babbel also I love putting my movies into french

Au lieu de mémoriser les mots sans savoir leurs applications, je dirais qu'il vaux mieux lire les articles de journals

Hi, where do you watch the frrench news? Online or tv?

Je pense que ça revient au même, et justement quand tu regardes les films avec les sous titres tu peux relater la signification , d'autant plus qu'avec le jeu d'acteur ça aide à peu près à contextualiser :P Tu crois pas :3 ?

regardant les films ont tendance à améliorer votre vocabulaire sans doute mais encore ils peuvent être très dur à suivre voire avec les sous titres, d'autant plus qu'avec la vitesse parlée par les Français.. que penses tu?

- Memrise
- Mondly
- Lingvist
= all good for vocab, if mondly is paid then don't bother but i got it for free so -shrugs-

As for other things:

- Listen to French music
- Try and watch French films with subtitles
- Try and watch French TV as already suggested.
- Try and talk/type/write to people in French
- Try and integrate French into your everyday life e.g. when counting, count in French instead of English.
- Read French childrens books.
- Watch YouTube channels that are for French viewers
- Change your browser, your phone (if you're willing), your websites etc . languages to French
- Read French newspapers as already said
- Listen to French radio
- This is really odd but if you enjoy games like cooking mama, just download that on google playa nd change language to french - you'll learn some ingredient names in french that way xD
- Set up a blog to help you practice your French if you want; if you use tumblr, there's a #langblr community for such a thing.
- Ensure you do something about it every day, even if only learning 1/2 more words
