Any one doing the Protest Crisis and Rebellion question for this paper? If so what do you think the 30m will be on - specifically the Tudor one and not on Anglo Spanish Relations

Hey, i've barely revised Anglo-Spanish as it came up last year but i'm hoping for something on the mid tudor crisis!! My teacher said she thinks it'll be something around Mary so i have my fingers crossed (although i don't feel at all confident on how authority increased/decreased etc). Something on factionalism could be good too.

Personally, I believe the question will be concerning factions or that of the importance of the changes made to political administration. The questions are usually concerning Anglo-Spanish relations, (yet due to its appearance in last year's exam, I doubt it will crop up again) factions under Henry VIII, the advancements in administration - be that political or financial - or that of religion.

For some reason my gut is telling me there will be a faction question, but for why I cannot be entirely sure.

For the political changes to administration what would you mention, could you talk about financial changes?

I would revise Anglo-Spanish relations in regards to Mary due to the fact that that has not come up in ages

You could talk about financial changes but in such a way where you speak about the shift from the rather archaic financial administration to that of the setting up of multiple departments (court of augmentations and court of fruit and tenths) to deal with income. However, I'd choose to focus on Cromwell's importance especially after the 1539 Act of Precedence, as it ensured that most of political management belong to Cromwell. Furthermore, Cromwell's condensed Privy Council provided more specialised and more productive advice as it was no longer ridiculously sized, as it was pre-Cromwell.

I'll be honest, political administration is one of the worst questions to come up, so much so that in 9/10 I'd chose the other question. Hope I was of some help.

how long are we supposed to spend on part a ( 30 marks) and part b (40 marks) each?

Stop trolling

That's quite rude Nikhilm I reckon that could potentially come up in the 30 marker question

I would recommend around 45 minutes for part a and 60 minutes for part b. With the remainder of the time used to re-read your answers or if you prefer additional planning time before each question.
Good luck everyone, hopefully some good questions crop up!
I feel wayyyy too confident about that exam :frown: probably haven't done well that means

What questions did you answer? I also felt like the exam went too easily. Which probably means that most people did well so the grade boundaries will be higher this year, great.
I did question 3, about the English civil war and why did parliament win. You're right! They're usually high as well, but I feel like they may be even higher this year :/

Oh I see. The fact I did the Tudor side of the paper too supports the idea that the grade boundaries will be higher, as both parts of the paper seem to have been easier. In a slightly sociopathic mindset, I hope us to be the only ones to have done well so the grade boundaries are low ;P

Can't touch dis
I reckon I scored 28-9/30 on A
and 37-8/40 B

Overall, 65/70 - wouldn't ****ing get me A* because my school ****ed me over in coursework, only got 44/50 in coursework which is a scrape A.

It's such a joke tbfh, all the other options for history have 56-58 A*, except for us.

edit: hopefully get an A* in my other 2 subjects.
and resit coursework component next year as Edexcel will still be running this A2 course one last time.
