You are who you are. Not everyone is outrageously out going. You will find others like you, but you may have to make an effort to get out of your comfort zone inorder to let yourself grow. In my first year I turned down a lot of invites to go to the cinema/cafe/nights out , but i realised that i had to compromise to a certain extent if i wanted to make friends otherwise they would just stop inviting me all together.

Hello,

Not really. You'll see a lot of people post of here that it can be a disadvantage but that's because within the next couple of days they are comparing themselves to others and some how think they are doing worse because their experience isn't comparing to them.

Be yourself, take each day as it comes and you'll meet people similar to you, that share interests with you and what not - this will also come from meeting people on your course or joining societies. Just be yourself!

Good luck!
