For the same reason I hate Christmas. I don't hate Christmas or Valentines day per se... I hate these holidays because of the "expectations". They have become commercialized. The ads are geared towards - If you don't do this, you aren't worth anything. They don't say it in those words, but they say it back-handed.

So should father's day and mother's day both be removed too. Cause some people may not have one of their parents anymore so why can't everyone else do it privately instead of rubbing it in?

It's just another day, don't take it so seriously luv. It gives a reason for couples to be sweet to each other since people forget to do that. Especially if you have a busy life.

There's nothing wrong with going out by yourself! Many dessert places are having a buy one get one free. Don't let it get you down! Make yourself some yummy pancakes and spend the day pampering yourself! :smile:
