How does a gap year ucas application work?
If I decide on results day I don’t want to go university anymore for this year can I ask my unis to defer to next year? Can I use the same application for next year?

If you’re happy with your firm choice then yes you can ask to defer.
If you want to apply elsewhere or your firm doesn’t agree then you can submit a new application to 5 choices in the September after your results. You need to speak to your school about getting a reference
