Car tax

So I’m buying a car in tax band a so is free to tax. Do I have to do anything about taxing it or not?

You still need to tax it every year, even if there's no charge.

The purpose of "taxing" it declares your car is on the road, so yeah you still need to do it, you just won't get charged.

Exactly.

As above, taxation is still required. It just won't cost you anything to tax.
