How many words for the perfect essay

Hi, I’m doing btec applied science and I have an assignment for unit 8. However, my teacher said nothing about words count, so I was wondering if 3000 would be alright?

It's quality, not quantity. 2000 words of high-quality argument is immensely preferable to 3000 words of waffle. And remember: someone has to read all this!

With words, less is always more.
