This will be my second election ever in my lifetime and my very first General Election.

Presumably you mean since you became old enough to vote, otherwise you're a very articulate 2 year old

It's going to be interesting to see how the timing affects it, most universities breaking up for Christmas that week might cause a few students to get lost in the chaos, and it being before Christmas with a likely very bad flu season (Australia have already had it and generally they're a good indication of what's to come) might well aid the Tories, in as much as OAPs are heavily skewed conservative, and might well not be around for an election if it were held in January. That said, if Labour can turn it away from the inevitable brexit election, they've got a very good chance, as homelessness, food bank use and working poverty are all more visible in the run up to Christmas, and their policies tend to resonate with the guilt or struggle in seeing those in action more.
Excited for the chance to kick the Tories out but also feeling anxious by the thought of the Tories staying in power. :puke:

EDIT: will be voting Labour

Lol. Priti 'Law and Order' Patel's Chief of Staff, James Starkie (a former big wheel in the Leave campaign) was ejected from a Commons bar and escorted out by armed police after swearing loudly and kicking up at Tory MP Bob Stewart last night.

And apparently it might soon be off again if Parliament agrees to extend franchise to 16 & 17 year olds: https://www.independent.co.uk/news/uk/politics/boris-johnson-general-election-bill-16-17-year-old-vote-eu-citizen-commons-a9176271.html

That’s out of date because it was written 19 hours ago. The bill passed its Commons stages unamended, it is believed unlikely that the Lords would try amend it.

Brilliant, I was just going to post.

Amber Rudd (Tory again) and Patrick Mcglocklan are also not standing.

Oh right, that's interesting - McLoughlin had a huge Tory majority, but Rudd's Hastings and Rye seat is very marginal.

Why?

Labour would be disastrous for Britain
1- Nationalisation would decrease the efficiency of energy companies and would cost a fortune
2- Higher Taxes and Inflation - inflation is a tax on poor people - which would be caused by Labour printing money
3- Seizing company assets https://www.ft.com/content/dc17d7ee-ccab-11e9-b018-ca4456540ea6 - would cause financial markets to crash
4- Abolishing private schools
5- Leaving NATO - would be disastrous for national security
6- Higher minimum wage - despite good intentions, would cause higher unemployment and inflation

Glad i registered to vote after being poked into action by some tsr members :yeah:

Great. Please vote Labour! For the many, not the few.

At this point it's very difficult to predict. While opinion polls currently give them a 10-15% lead over Labour, this could change and our first past the post system means that there could be a lot of highly concentrated votes in strongly pro Leave areas while they may fail to pick up enough votes to Labour and the Lib Dems in other areas. As a result, I selected the "don't know" option.

Whoever i decide to vote for it will certainly not be on the back of any tsr members telling me how to vote

I'd expected the poll to be predicting a big Tory win, but it's clearly more in the air than that.

I agree with you. Nobody should tell you how to vote. It is your right to engage in the electoral process.

It is our hope that people understand this is our chance to get our nation back from the hands of the Tory Government. If not for yourself, then for your family, friends and, hopefully, future generations.

As long as you participate in the electoral process, I have no qualms. For the many, not the few!

Please stop trying to sway me  I am more than capable of looking up different party manifestos and making my own decisions. You say nobody should tell people how to vote and in the same breath say please vote labour.
It's quite insulting when people try to ram their views and belief down your throat, i wouldnt do this to you and ask you to treat me with the same courtesy

I did not mean to insult you and was not “ramming my views down your throat”. I was only putting a perspective out there and, as you claim, you are intelligent enough to receive it & form your own opinions. If I can convince you how to vote in 2 posts on TSR, then anyone including the BNP, Lib Dems or Brexit Party can do the same thing.

I did not mean to offend you. If you felt offended, then I apologise. I have suggested to others on TSR to vote for Labour, even though they have ignored my request. It is not a do-or-die matter, it was a request made with the assumption that you may be undecided or leaning towards a non-Labour Party candidate.

All the best. For the many, not the few!

These are just Tory-led attacks on a Party focused on support for everyone.
