car parking

Hi,
I'm new to Southampton since two weeks. I came from Germany with my car and didn't know about the parking problems in Southampton. I live now in Mercury Point (Duke Street) and studying at Solent University in 3rd year.
Isn't there any possibility to park the car somewhere for less than 2700,-/year as they offered me? Need not to be very close as I don't use the car every day...

Have a look on http://www.parkatmyhouse.co.uk/southampton-parking/ just be sure to check the reviews/references of whoever you look into (I've only used it for a parking space in london not in soton) but you should be able to find somewhere on there for £700-800 for a year (and you can pay weekly/monthly so only pay for what you need).
