Counter assistant at Sainsburys? (Or other supermarkets)

What does it involve? I foolishly accepted to go for an interview, but I need a job. (Been searching for months)

Do they give you a choice if you want to work in deli/meat/fish/bakery?

Do they train you how to gut fish and what not? I have no experience whatsover
How long is the training?

Can you change departments after a while?

Any other tips?

Sorry for asking so many questions
bump.I got the interview but have no experience related to the post.

They'll tell you at the interview what the role will involve. Normally it specifies when you apply if it is for the bakery. You'll receive full training which takes about 3 months I think as that's your probation period... but I think some counter staff are required to undertake additional training, provided for by the company, outside of the store and their normal working hours.

You can ask other departments if they can train you for when they have spare overtime. Checkouts would most likely be willing seeing as Christmas is fast approaching!
