How do i revise for English Lit effectively?

I'm re taking my AS English lit exam in January and its the one subject i always have trouble revising for. I've never had a method, i just read through the texts a couple of times and did a few practise essay questions. I'm going to be tested on two novels ( Enduring Love and Small Island) and Robert Browning and WH Auden - i think its an AQA syllabus

any advice would be really appreciated

ps. i got a C and I'm aiming for a high B or an A (seeing at its my second time)

Thanks!

Well, I'm retaking and I've just re-read the texts and planned a million essays. It's writing them that I'm not too good at but I'm working on a) my written expression and b) answering the question not rambling on.
