How do I find out if my advisor is an expert in his field?

Hello,
I am accepted into research (MPhil/PhD) programme at UCL and Goldsmiths for intercultural studies and comparative literature respectively. I am international graduate student and will most likely work outside the UK in the Middle East or Canada. I am interested in the university that can offer a more diverse experience and offer excellent research output in Arts and Humanities.

I know that UCL's overall ranking is much better than Goldsmiths's. However, after researching the matter, the concensus is that having an advisor who is an expert in the field or world-renowned is much more important than the institution itself at the postgraduate level. How do I find out if my advisor is renowened/expert in his field or not?

Thanks

i think that's easy.
u can first ask ur tutor in ur current school. they should know
also, the school webpage offers information on each program. u can find something useful there.

Do you know their name?

If so, google the hell out of them.
