I am the victim of Teeside's uni,as they rejected me state away within ten days of applying to UCAS,when I asked the feed back they answered,I did not showed team work experience:
I have 7 year volunteering experience with Red Cross and raised about 5000 pounds with my friends as a team work for a disable 7 year old girl in Devon U.K..which was a news in the news paper also, Worked in Earthquake where about 2500 lost their lives....I will never consider this university again....

Ah felt like that. I was so upset at first I would of grovelled ha, but then few days later I just felt bitter, just feel unfair to be turned away fopr little things like that without an interview, suppose theycant interview every one. Did you have any luck any where else?

Well I got bad news yesterday, it looks like I won't be going to Carlisle in September - I'll be trying to avoid the dole queue.

I rang the Uni today for feedback, there's a letter in the post, but apparently I've been placed on the waiting list in case any places aren't taken - although due to demand I can't see that happening.

Glad you've had better luck than me - don't worry too much about the money, those on the course say between working and studying you'll not likely have too much time to spend any spare cash you do have. Plus, you could always apply for extra shifts during your placements to make some extra cash.

Ah im really sorry to hear that. I know how disheartening it felt just even when i thought i wasnt going to get accepted anywhere. And waiting another year seems like such a long time but hopefully if you can get work inbetween it may help yor chances. I work in banking so nothing to do with radiography but i think the fact of just working with different people on a daily basis helps... If you need any help with any thing if you re-appy let me know. Although I think my personal statement really let me down as looking back i dont think it was know where near as strong as it should of been your welcome to have a copy for idea's

Don't give up. I have a friend who was put on the waiting list last year and they got offered a place last minute so never say never

I can understand your feeling but we have to keep moving.
I lost all five option 2without Interview and 3 after Interview.
Final was you know was a big blow after reaching to near confirmation of my place.

I applied to extra...the only option...lets see..
What about you don't loose the hope and try your best....we just need one place...ha ..ha...ha
And smile dear...

but did you provide all this information in your PS and link into how it would translate into being a good radiographer?

volunteering and raising money with friends, doesnt necessarily make you a team player, it just shows you are charitable.

calling yourself a victim and throwing your toys out the pram just because you didnt get an interview, doesnt really come across as being a team player, its quite self-centred.

Universities cant interview everyone, your PS is what makes you stand out to get your foot in the door, and on this occasion, you just have to accept yours didnt. but thats no reason not to consider reapplying to them again. You will need to develop a thick skin if youre going to survive the school of hard knocks. Just because this particular Uni didnt want you today, doesnt mean you wont be what they are looking for in the future, you just have to keep plugging away until you get what you want.

Does anyone know how student finance works if you end up going to your insurance choice?

my firm is teesside, i would be staying at home with my parents and commuting by car, and im only entitled to around £1740

my insurance however is canterbury, and thats at the other end of the country so i would have to live in accommodation

what happens if i have to go there? is it easy enough to sort out?

Thanks x

i was advised to use my worst case scenario finances wise, for my application. so my most expensive uni and accommodation as that way i wouldnt be short for the start of term.

however, its quite easy to do an amendment once you are in the system, rather than wait to apply once you finally know your situation. although the later you leave it the longer it takes for your money to come through

No I don't think you have to apply for City South, just think it's recommended because it's so close the the campus  I'm coming from the Lake District, so i'm not too sure what's going on as the only time i've been to Birmingham so far has been for my interview (a)

I have spent hours on the internet and after discovering that city south has no en suite and that the cheaper room hasn't been renovated I have found IQ. It's private and its £99 per week but it only 20 minute walk from campus and across the road from the train station. I just don't fancy sharing a bathroom with up to 10 other people. The rooms are really nice. They have got a website showing all the rooms. I'm from Wales and have only been to Birmingham twice.

It was a 2 on 1 interview. I was messed about by UWE for another course so to make up for it they invited me to this one. I wouldn't have been considered as I have A-levels and they don't accept people with them, but because of my situation they've given me a place.
I took the last place, think there are 30 places.
And I haven't any others confirmed because I was unsuccessful with my others, and this is unconditional so I don't need insurance.

Iv just Looked at IQ now, they look a lot better than city south, especially because of the en-suite! I'm just bothered it wouldn't be in a very good place for socialising wit others :/
