Like most normal guys I don't mind a bit of hair, but I don't wanna date a she gorilla either.

My BF dumped a girl for having body hair. It's not just that it was a turn-off for him, it was more what it said about her. Like not showering or using deodorant, or having dirty clothes, it shows a lack of self respect and respect for those close to you. Ugly fecking ape-women - yeuch!

Wait, you're the girl that doesn't allow her boyfriend to masturbate! Not surprised, you two tossers deserve each other.

Nope, I prefer fuzzy legs to ingrown hairs and dry skin. Sometimes I'll make the effort if I want to look nice, but I see nothing wrong with body hair. Head hair on the other hand, I'm sick of. Looking forward to being rid of it (hence the sig)

You've lost me Edith. I cannot see signatures since I have failed to work out how to use TSR properly. Are you advocating hairy legs and a bald look for a women?

Women is the plural form, clearly you mean "woman". And no, I'm just saying that's my personal preference. Other people can do as they wish with their own bodies, it's nobody's business but theirs.
ffs why does this thread automatically make me anonymous! This is annoying! (also eboracum, please stop using my name to address me, it makes me uncomfortable).

I'm just a bored university student in the library, that should be revising. My comments were only meant to be lighthearted. I apologise for any offence caused.

No offence taken, it's just a little creepy being called by my name by somebody I don't know and haven't disclosed my name to them personally, I find it disconcerting. As for the whole body hair thing, you're certainly not the first person to be perturbed by my preferences, so it doesn't bother me in the slightest.

Ok. And don't worry, I have some weird preferences in other areas also. It's good to be different. Now I need to get back to my study's.

Yes, why wouldn't any guy? Too much porn 'lads'.

I actually find some hair a turn on...

Definitely agree with you there!
I only shave because my skin becomes awfully itchy when I don't. I also like the "I've shaved" feeling, its just awesome. Hence I shave on a regular basis every week. Sometimes I skip because I'm too lazy; its not like people are going to stare at my private parts and skin all day.

Most of the guys I know don't mind a bit of hair on arms and legs, though they do like to tease and make jokes about it. They don't entirely like women who shave everything because its like porn.

Are there different standards for men and women? Women must impress their men with prepubescent genitals or face being dumped? If this is how your boyfriend thinks dump him on the spot! No one sees a man with hair under his arms or on his pits and thinks "Ugly fecking ape-men - yeuch!" so why is it acceptable to do so for women? Whether or not you have body hair doesn't dictate how much you shower, use deodorant, wear dirty clothes and most certainly doesn't show a lack of self respect. I believe in respecting your body by not pouring hot wax over it to rip open hair follicles allowing bacteria to crawl into my skin. That's me respecting my body.

Anybody who believes its a woman's obligation to shave so men will find her attractive, whereas men can do whatever with their body hair, is probably not someone you wanna date....

Personal preference is one thing but question the reasons behind society imposing that personal preference on your consciousness.

Yes, there are different standards for men and women. Women should be smooth, men hairy (other than their faces). I don't buy into the idea of men shaving their chests or anything else, which comes from gay culture and is designed to make guys from boy bands, Beckham etc attractive to gay men rather than to women.

I agree that there is not a link between shaving or not and whether someone showers, uses deoderant or puts on clean clothes. I brought these things up as analogies (sp?) meaning that they are other examples of people not taking care of their personal hygiene and thereby disrespecting themselves and others around them.

I expect my man to be a man, not a spoilt incontinent child. And that includes waiting until he sees me for his sexual needs to be met
Kinky.... or just boring? Don't be too surprised if he looks elsewhere.

That wouldn't even make economic sense - straight women are a much bigger group than gay men.

I associate underarm hair with maleness so yeah that's kind of massively offputting.
