Am I entitled to all these £17k of scholarships?

Hi, so I just received an email from Leeds University and in it they explained that I have been automatically entered for 4 scholarships. All these scholarships, together, give you £17k during your first year (I didn't calculate how much you could get later). Here they are:

Pathways for Potential Scholarship (3k)
Lord Laidlaw Scholarship (9k + achieve AAB, tops up NSP & LFS scholarships)
Social Enrichment Scholarship (3k)
Achievement Scholarship (2k)

They are all based on household income and the applicants social background etc. (we used to be refugees so we're not exactly rich, we gained citizenship 8+ years ago however). I may also apply for scholarships involving achievement as seen as I'm predicted AAB but I'm not too sure.

Am I actually eligible for all these scholarships at once? It seems too good to be true, and to be honest, unfair aswell :/

By the way, this figure DOES NOT INCLUDE the maintenance loan/grant or anything other than those 4 scholarships mentioned.

If i'm wrong please forgive me I'm rather ignorant on this topic :/

Also, if you would like me to post a link for the eligibility criteria or general info regarding the scholarships, I'd be happy to do so

If the university have entered you for them, then you must by definition be eligible. The allocation of scholarships is important to a uni, as they attract/keep students from the types of background they specifically target. Looking at the scholarships you mention, they're based on household income, so you're probably automatically entitled to apply if your parents earn below the £25,000 threshold. However, the general information page says that they're "highly competitive" and there's a chance that you won't necessarily get all (or potentially any) of them. Don't worry about it not being fair - if you weren't entitled to them, you wouldn't be able to apply. Good luck!

Very often a grant/scholarship is conditional on not getting any other awards.

Also see their FAQ:

Can I apply for more than one scholarship?

Yes! If you submit a scholarship application form, we will automatically consider you for every scholarship where you meet the criteria and deadline. However, we are committed to helping as many students as we can with the funding so even if you are provisionally successful in your application for several scholarships, you will normally only receive the award of highest value.

Good luck!
