Distance Learning/Online Science A levels

Very much regret not having worked hard enough at school .... particularly at science. Before even thinking of higher level study in this area, I think I should go 'back to school' and take an A level or two. One of my kids is doing A levels and thinks that I'd find biology A level (a firm favourite of a subject of mine) too prescriptive/formulaic. I'm not so sure as I think that I need the discipline of learning a subject thoroughly and I like the level of detail that the A level course goes into. It's quite analytical and I think probably a good basis for further, maybe more creative study later on.

Work full time so couldn't go to college (probably much to the relief of younger students ...). Does anyone know of any good online or DL A level courses (biology - maths not good enough for physics at present)? I see that some FE college run them but they seem to be as expensive as the more commercial courses.
Would appreciate some suggestions! Thanks!:h:
