I did the precursor to it , T173 Engineering the Future! Probalby my faovurite course I've done with the OU. Not difficult and really wide ranging and interesting. The big complaint with it lots of people had with it was that it was dealing with relatively old technology as examples. For instance there was a big section on designing electric kettles, another on folding bicycles and a section on cathode ray TVs. Now, actually it didn't affect the quality or importance of what you were learning, because you weren't learning actually about electric kettle technology, you were learning about the design and engineering processes, but to a lot of people - particularly the young ones who would feel the distance from that kind of stuff more - it made the course feel outdated. I presume that's been tackled in the new 174 version, the content is probably the same, but the examples modernised a bit!
My tip would be enjoy it, it's a fun course!
