Russell group uni improve employability/ postgraduate?

I am currently a second year law student at the university of the west of England, Bristol. I discovered that most top law firms recruit solely from Oxbridge or Russell group unis. As such amongst other reasons,I plan on taking a masters in law and economics at a russell group uni. UCL my first choice, although uni of Reading offers a more suitable module specification pertaining to me, they do not have as many professional contact as the London unis.

Does doing the postgraduate degree in a russell group uni improve my employability or ifs it pointless? Thanks.
If you take a look at this site it will give a few clues as to whether where you studied makes a difference:

http://www.indx.co.uk/pupilbase/

Choose your institution type, then see where the green zone starts. Change your first degree to Russell and see the difference it makes. This site is geared towards barristers, but you can probably discern something from it regarding solicitors.

There's another section to that site that shows the breakdown of junior barristers by first degree institute:

You can see where UCL and Reading are on that list.

Also, not quite sure what you are suggesting above, but Reading isn't in the Russell Group.
