Student loan

Can you get a student loan for a foundation year?
If it's at the Higher Education level then in general yes. This usually means it's already integrated to the course, and has a separate UCAS code for that integrated course from the non-foundation year course. An example is "Chemistry with Foundation Year" at Southampton.

For courses at the Further Education level, such as the "Art Foundation Year" courses offered by e.g. the UAL, these are not funded by SFE, and are funded by the local authorities for students under the age of 19 at the start of the course, or by the student if they are over that age (although they may be eligible for Advanced Learner Loans from the government).
