I know TSR is going to go into meltdown because of this question, but...

So as the title suggests, I don't have Facebook (FB) or Twitter. I'm in uni, and people say having both of these makes life convenient.

I didn't get either of these because in my second day of high school, people who didn't have these forms of social media were mocked with a silly joke (that went along the lines of: 'whats the big deal, Facebook is only a picture of your face in-front of a book, cant believe you haven't done this you idiot' - all said in a sarcastic tone).
This put me off the idea of getting both FB and twitter.

But, from your experiences should I get them?????
If you don’t want them - No.

Facebook is generally used to add friends from your Uni course, so if you wish to be a bit more social at Uni it’s worth getting. But the choice is yours.

Stay away from them. At least right now you can maintain 99.9% more anonimity than the majority of the population who signed up to those social media platforms

no one i know has a facebook account or they just don’t use it, twitter is sometimes useful to stay up to date or be aware of events quickly but the news and talking to your friends is just as good
