can someone tell me what kind of caterpillar is this?

It's hard to say since there are so many moth and butterfly species, but it reminds me of a Common Quaker moth caterpillar. See what you think!

Cabbage looper caterpillars sometimes end up over here, but I could probably only confirm that if you had a picture of its prolegs.
Could possibly even be a Dunbar moth? I am literally just flicking through my moths, butterflies and caterpillars book right now :colondollar: the Dunbar has the spots and light stripes.

I can't make out the number as well as I would like to, so it would be probably easier to strike out the Cabbage Looper by determining how it moved. Do you remember whether or not it moved with the following exaggerated "looping" movement?

Spoiler

Or at least something similar. This was the best picture I could find to represent their motion.
