What do you guys get for the molecule that makes up genes? I did a stupid thing and wrote 'bases (protein molecule)' which makes no sense but desperate times..

My friends are saying it was DNA molecule?

yep its dna

what was the egg shell question answer

This the one about the shell being broken down into calcium ions? If so I think the answer followed ideas about Osmosis and how concentration of Calcium ions was higher outside so moved into the egg.

think they're on about trilogy science

Ahhh, had me worried I did the wrong paper lmao

Fairly sure this is right.

One was 605 per 500cm3, and of which you needed 1000 for daily intake. The other was 4.5 per 500cm3, of which you needed 2.4 for daily intake.

I believe the answer is somewhere around 559/560.

This is correct seen a few people that seem to have mis-read the question.

I got DNA molecules and I’m pretty sure that’s the right answer, sorry
At least it was only worth one mark.

what was the egg shell question answer

active transport. the calcium moves from a low concentration (egg shell) to a high concentration (cytoplasm)

and for why it increased in mass was because of osmosis

Here’s ones I can remember of the top off my head [TRIPLE HIGHER]

Prevent spreading of mild salmonella: (2)
- being hygienic
- avoid contact

Potato, monoclonal antibodies: (6)
1) Inject protein of plant virus in mouse
2)Mouse makes lymphocytes against anything foreign (antigen)
3)Remove lymphocytes from mouse and choose the one with the right antibody to defend virus
4)Attach the lymphocyte chosen to a tumour cell to form hybridoma, let divide
5)Purify and collect all antibodies, lots of monoclonal antibodies to treat virus

Lack of Mg ions, stunted growth, yellow leaves: (5)
- lack of Mg2+ leads to chlorosis
- lack of chloroplasts as Mg makes chlorophyll, causes yellow leaves
- lack of chloroplasts, etc. leads to less photosynthesis
-less glucose made, less required for growth

It is DNA, but I wrote protein because I forgot that this is part of mitosis. I thought it was only part of DNA coding for proteins which is paper 2 so thought DNA would be the wrong answer ugh.

Yessss I thought DNA wouldn't be the right answer but on different grounds: that a gene is part of DNA and not the other way round?

I got 800and something - 200and something = 500andsomething cm3 of milk more

yeah because 1gm of the calcium was 1.21 so for 1000 u needed 826cm (cubed) and for the other nitrate or mineral it was 0.009 per 1 grm so u needed like 267 so 826 - 267 = 559cm (cubed more of milk)
