Difference between MPhil and Masters degree

Are Masters and MPhil the same degrees? If I have a Masters degree in any subject, would it be considered as MPhil?
MSc, MA, MEng, MPhil etc. Are all considered masters level qualifications. A masters degree in any subject would not be considered an MPhil. The correct styling would be given in the name of your degree.

For example
MSc Forensic Science, is not the same as:
MA Forensic Science

MPhil is typically awarded to someone who is doing a PhD and either drops out or fails to meet the standards required for the award of a PhD. Most PhD candidates are enrolled as MPhil students for this purpose until their 2nd year in.

An MPhil also denotes that th student completed their masters degree by extended independent research.
MPhil can be a research master's, rather than a taught one. It can be taught and 2 years rather than 1. It really is just "a weird master's" rather than referring to specific qualities.
MPhil is one of many masters courses.
