for two different courses

Why do you want to do this?
If you’re applying to two different courses they should be close enough that your personal statement can cover both (e.g. applying for both medicine and biomed you can talk about the same biology/medicine-things that you have done for both courses). Otherwise, it seems like you really need to decide what course you want to do as you only will get into one at the end of the day
In the past some uni's would let you, but it was only for certain courses. At King's they used to let you submit a second PS if you were applying to Liberal Arts because Liberal Arts was not as common as it is now. You would've struggled to find 5 UCAS choices with Liberal Arts and it encompasses many subject areas. I think at a time it was just Oxford and King's that taught it at UG, so you would have another 3 choices that were not Liberal Arts, so King's would accept a second PS because they knew you were restricted by choice.

The standard answer is NO, but it is worth checking with the universities that you are thinking about applying to by emailing their Admissions Team directly. It also depends how closely related the subjects are- For example if you apply to Mechanical Engineering and Medicine, the University is going to think you have absolutely no idea what you want to do with your life and it will have a negative affect on your likelihood of receiving an offer. On the flip side, if your subjects are more closely aligned (Mech Eng and Civil Eng) then you wouldn't likely need to write a second PS because you've highlighted the skills you have that are relevant for Engineering.

The usual answer is a straight up NO, but I think it also depends on your circumstances and the subjects you are thinking about.

Good luck!
