What happens after failing a module?

Confused student here about resits :frown:

If (when) I fail a module (40% exam, 60% coursework(s)), does the resit only involves me retaking the exam only and trying to ace it or can I also resit the coursework(s) as well?

My coursework is so bad I need to pretty much ace the exam to get 40% for the overall module.

Ask your department/ tutor, but this often depends on the rules for the module. I would expect that you have to resit the elements that you failed, so if you failed both, then you need to resit both. The fact you say you need to ace the exam leads me to suspect you failed the coursework as well and that you would find the current mark difficult to carry. It is also likely you will be capped at 40%.
