Becoming a paramedic

If you wanted to become a paramedic, however did not want to go to uni to study paramedic science, is it possible to do an apprenticeship, and if so where/ who would you inquire??

To become a paramedic you will need to complete a degree. The HCPC have very recently changed the threshold requirements and made the decision that paramedic registration eligibility is subject to you achieving a level 6 (degree level) qualification. You do not need to go to university to do this though. Ambulance trusts offer internal progression (e.g, student paramedic roles, whereby a degree may be funded, and you study on the job) whilst working with them, as an EMT, for example. Degree apprenticeship schemes do exist as well. If you don't wish to attend a university, have a look at jobs advertised on the NHS website where internal progression onto paramedic registration is possible, though this can't always be guaranteed.
