Laptop for University

I start uni this September, and am looking for a good laptop on budget, less than £700. I will be studying mechanical engineering but I understand I won’t be expected to run big programs like matlab on my personal laptop. I would like i5 or better, and 8gb of RAM. I am not really interested in using the laptop for gaming, but I want a good all round laptop with good battery life and will maintain good performance for many years.

I have thought about looking for a new windows laptop, or also considered a used MacBook Pro 2015 13” off of eBay, gumtree etc

Not sure if the offer is still on but it should be as I brought mine a few days ago. Comes with 8th gen i5 and 8gb RAM - I think. Battery life is brilliant - 13.5 hours and using it for 4 hours only used 40% of battery.
