How is uni life?

I like want to know how uni life is? like in terms of living there? The dorm space? Roommates? Sharing Bathroom (very worried about this one)? Workload? How are things taught? Do you only have to pass or actually care about your work? Do you actually need to try? Friends? Food?

Halls of residence varies slightly, however everywhere has the basic types - catered, semi catered or self catered, shared bathroom or en suite. Catered en suite typically costs the most and self catered shared bathroom tends to be the cheapest. Shared rooms (actual "dorms") typically tend to have been phased out until about 10 years ago so don't tend to exist now. Shared bathrooms and kitchens - well, it depends on your housemates. There are typically max of 6 bedrooms to 1 bathroom can be anything from absolutely fine and everyone pulling their weight to noone bothering to do any cleaning, however what your housemates will be like is something noone can predict.

Workload? How are things taught?

Depending on the course, anything from 8 hours a week of lectures/seminars to 4 days a week 9-4. 8 hours a week demands a LOT of reading outside of that! Lectures tend to have 20-100+ people of being talked at and seminars max of about 15 and more interaction. You are expected to spend more time learning for yourself and going looking things up/reading - hence the term reading a subject at uni not studying it.

Yes you do "only" have to pass, however just doing that does actually involve putting a fair amount of effort in. A higher degree grade looks better to employers - that takes more effort.
