Can i go from uni to home then back

Hi Everyone, hope you all doing good. I have a question because of lockdown and covid. I am currently at uni and have no symptoms. I want to go back home next week Friday or Thursday because of Diwali and new yrs, would i be able to go home, I already have my train ticket for Paddington and a bus ticket back to uni on Monday.
Hi! Under the new COVID-19 Restrictions, travel is technically not allowed. Where you live at university it classed as your home now and they advise you not to leave home unless absolutely necessary. However, the legislation does state that travel is permitted in order to visit a place of worship. I'm not sure what extent this is to, whether it is intended that you visit a local place of worship or you could travel home and visit a place of worship with your family. The link to the legislation about travel is here: https://www.legislation.gov.uk/uksi/2020/1200/part/2/made

Hope this helps!

Hiya!

The government guidance states that students should not move back and forth between your permanent home and student home during term time. The government site also states they will provide more information at the end of term regarding moving to and from university and your permanent address as i'm sure the government are aware that students will want to go home. This is the site with information on- https://www.gov.uk/guidance/new-nati...and-university.

Also, there is specific guidance on this link- https://www.gov.uk/guidance/new-national-restrictions-from-5-november#education-school-college-and-university. and information about how you can leave home to go to a place of worship. Perhaps speak with your family about it as I'm sure nobody would want to be put at risk.

Stay safe and happy! Sam- Official Student Rep
