The Student Room Group

Had three years of finance already but two were one term

I've dropped out three times from uni mainly due to health but I am fit and well and ready to go back aged 36.

I originally applied in 2006-2008 and got three years funding for three sepereate academic courses but

2 years I dropped out in term one practically he first month and even repaid some of the loan back

Will I be eligible if I supply medical evidence for three years funding for a new course.

Cos you get three years plus an extra year.

Which would be my full academic year I completed.

And would the other two be disregarded under extraordinary circumstances since I dropped out in the first month?

Hi there, All previous study is counted when assessing an application for funding. The calculation is as follows: new course + 1 Additional Year - Any previous study = remaining entitlement
We can also consider Compelling Personal Reasons (CPR).
You’ll need to send a letter to us detailing your Compelling Personal Reasons (CPR) along with any evidence of your mitigating circumstances.
Where applicable, we recommend the evidence is:
- Signed and dated
- Confirms the reason why you could not continue with your studies and
- When this took place
Photocopies of all evidence can be accepted and this evidence can include:
- Medical evidence from a GP on headed paper
- Letter from HEP on headed paper

Thanks, Angela
