Asch? Bro? How many students? Help pls

Hey, how many participants did Asch have for his line length experiment? Is it 123 or 50? I keep seeing either.

"50 male students from Swarthmore College in America"
"The original experiment was conducted with 123 male participants."

BRO. How many are there I'm going insane! Is it that he had an original 1951 study with 50 then a 1955 study with 123? Is it the other way round? bruh

Original study: Asch's original experiment in 1951 used 50 male college students as the real participants (the ones being studied).

Series of experiments: Asch actually conducted a series of experiments with variations. When all of these experiments are combined, the total number of participants comes to 123.

Best to refer to 50 unless specifically asked about the total
