Anyone doing Extended Certificate in college??

How different is extended certificate from a-level? I'm considering criminology extended certificate but i'm still not 100% with what the differences are..
I know it's worth the same as a-level, but is it assessed in a different way? Or would it be more practical?

The Criminology course is Vocational (so similar to BTEC) and is 50% controlled assessment and 50% exam. In theory it is worth the same UCAS points as an As level . However, be aware that a lot of Universities do not accept Criminology (as its not seen as robust enough) so it would be wise to check any potential Universities / courses before you start. (You might be safer with BTEC Applied Law instead)
