The Student Room Group

Punishment

I think it’s called internal exclusion where you isolated in a room with few other students for a day. Unfortunately I received the punishment by talking to a member of staff in a rude fashion in year 9. I’ve got good grade and I’ve become better and more respectful to people more, I even talked my head of year that will this one isolation affects my application to sixth from or uni? But he said everyone makes mistake and he wouldn’t even mention it in my reference. But I’m still really worried that the admission will see my permanent school discipline record and judge me, will I’ll be ok?

In the UK there is no such thing as a permanent record that is passed on to your uni choices. It is a myth.

You're perfectly fine. I know people who got many of such isolations and yet they've entered sixth form. Like previously answered as well, can't say I've ever heard of such a "permanent school discipline record". Again, you'll be fine in this aspect.

Thank you for responding, so do you mean either the sixth from or the uni will not able to see my past discipline record in school?

Unis see nothing about your attendance or disciplinary record. Only what is input to your UCAS application and the text of your reference (which will very rarely say anything negative at all).

I don’t know what info is passed from a school to a sixth form college.

What is a UCAS application exactly?

UCAS administer the application service for undergraduate degrees in the UK.

Oh ok, I talked to my head of year and he said he wouldn’t even mentioned a thing in my reference, so do you think I’ll be ok? Sorry for asking too many questions.
