Social media and studies

Well so education is really important to me. But whenever I see my friends they're so active on social media which is why they're so popular and have so many followers and all. Now don't get me wrong I don't care about my number of followers or likes or anything but when you see people looking at your friends in high regards because they're so popular on social media while you are too unknown it just creates so much insecurity. And I really don't want to feel this because it affects my studies which is my top priority. But how do I overcome this insecurity...

I know exactly how you feel :frown: Have you ever tried completely taking a break from such social media platforms that are bothering you? Or maybe try restricting your usage of it?

Have you considered completely quitting social media or atleast taking a break from it or just minimising your daily use? It may help with the insecurity. The longer you are away from social media, the less likely for this insecurity to creep in. I honestly used to feel the same way but after completely quitting social media, I now live my life offline and started interacting with people in person. Once you don’t know what people are doing in social media, you stop feeling envious. You start focusing on yourself, real life and none of the social media stuff.

What I hate about social media and friends is that they use it to ''incriminate'' the innocents. I had a porn addiction, which people came to know about, because I posted and commented about it on a social media platform, and they gave me hell for it for a very long time. They still are, maybe, but I do not know, because I do not talk to them. But it still hurts me deeply. :frown:

My point being, if you remove the source in the first place, in this case social media, you will focus better on your priorities and not bother about who is more popular on SM or not. But yes, sadly, this is how it is consumed, and it will never be changed.
