Entry Requirements

My school offered the basic number of GCSE’s which were 7 and 2 Level 2 BTECs. As BTECs are supposedly equivalent to GCSE will they be used to calculate my average GCSE score? I know many schools say they don’t accept BTEC but I don’t understand if that means students who took BTEC instead of A Levels or if they just don’t consider them at all.
