Russell group universities and year 12 resits; advice?

I'm currently doing A Level Biology, Chemistry and Psychology. I got an A for both Biology and Psychology but only a D grade in Chemistry. I was thinking of re taking year 12 and doing Sociology instead of Chemistry. I want to do Psychology at uni and go to Queen Mary's or King's... Do they look down on year 12 retakes?

I doubt the unis will see whether you re-did a year, however I would highly advise not to start the year over. Instead, I would suggest carrying on with your other subjects in year 13 as normal and asking to swap to sociology instead of chem, and learning all the year 1 content of sociology over the summer holidays.
