Hi there.
Nothing against Macs, but i would recommend a Windows laptop, simply for ease of use, especially when at uni, where perhaps you might need to use virtualisatoin, etc.
A minimum of 8 gb ram and i5 proc, but I would advise for at least double that ram if you're planning on using a lot of virtualisation.
