Anyone here taking a BA/BMus Degree in Music?

So, I’ll be going into Year 13 in September and during the summer I’ll have to do the dreaded UCAS Personal Statement and also really be clear about which universities I want to go to.

My parents want me to stay in London for university, but I feel like Music degrees in London seem quite limited in comparison to the wider range of universities outside of London (most of them being Russell Group unis), I have considered conservatoires but it’s still something I’m unsure about.

If there’s anyone here taking a BA/BMus degree (especially if you’re situated at a London based uni/conservatoire), I’d love to hear from you about your experiences at your university and what you’ve enjoyed (and not) about the course.

I think the first decision will be whether you are looking for the Conservatoire or University route, as both are quite different and if Conservatoire then the application date is much sooner than University so you will need to start thinking of where you would like to apply to.
